Mediation Training Opportunity - Yorkshire

Roger Butterworth (Consultant OT) has informed me that he has this course running on December 9th and 10th 2009.

Mediation Skills for Job Retention and Case Management

This training will take mediation skills and place them in the context of job retention and case management. There will be a focus on resolving conflict between vulnerable employees and their employer (or immediate line manager).
The course is intended for participants who have already attended the 2 day “Job Retention Case Management” programme facilitated by Dave Costello and Roger Butterworth, or who have experience of working in the field of Mental Health job retention/case management.
Participants may have a background in Mental Health, Vocational Rehabilitation, Occupational Health, Human Resources or job retention. It should appeal to anyone who wishes to feel more confident in facilitating conflicting needs and difficult conversations.
This course is experiential, drawing on your own history and working with actors to create a “live” opportunity for skills practice.

Fit for Work Pilot Success

I understand that Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and North Staffordshire has been successful in being chosen as one of the pilot sites for Dame Carol Black's Fit For Work services.

If anyone has more information they can now share about what's happening in Nottingham, I for one would love to hear about it!

If you don't know about Fit For Work here's a link

If you have received the case study and you wanted to ask questions, make comments etc. then just press the "comments" button with the little pencil next to it on this posting and type in your text.

I look forward to your edifications...

Welcome Notice

Hi there and welcome to the COTSS Work Trent Regional blog.

If you are an Occupational Therapist you can join this blog and get regular updates about the group by subscribing to the RSS feed - then instead of having to make an effort to visit us, we'll just send updates to your email address. Cool eh!

Don't worry if you are new to blogging it's really just like a website - but you can interact with us by making comments on the "posts" we make. We'll tell you about interesting stuff that might be happening in the region, events we'll organise and other interesting stuff too.

If you are a member of COTSS Work we will be able to invite you to join the blog and you will be able to post stuff here too. The Regional Rep will have your email contacts and we'll be able to organise an invite. So, if you haven't been invited yet let us know.

Anyway that's enough for now. See you later.
